I Program

The Center for International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC)conducted Fifth Asia OSS Workshop at KL with Asia e University and Malaysian National Computer Confederation (MNCC), Malaysia during 3 to 5 December, 2008

This workshop is funded by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan.

Duration Three days during 3 to 5 December, 2008

Target Participants 51 OSS Trainers, Practitioners and experts from national organizations and academia from 13 asian countries:
Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Vietnam

II. Objective

To Develop training material in the areas of OSS application and deployment
To establish networks with OSS community from IT industry in Asia (to increase industry and OSS community participation)
To introduce Japanese IT developments to Asia and improve participation of IT professionals working for Japanese firms or involved in Japanese cooperation projects in Asia
