S&T Organizations

The Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST) is a New Zealand government department which develops research and innovation policies. MoRST manages the publicly funded part of the RS&T system on behalf of the Government. MoRST works at the high level of policies, strategies and statistics. We contract other agencies to manage the funding of research and innovation projects carried out by research organisations. [URL: http://www.morst.govt.nz/]

Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MORST) is leading the establishment of an Advanced Network in New Zealand. An Advanced Network would aim to meet the needs of researchers, educationalists and others working in the innovation industries for high-speed gigabit networks, linking institutions in these sectors within New Zealand and to similar organisations overseas. MoRST actively supports collaborative links with a number of countries by way of bilateral science arrangements, other government initiatives, and funding mechanisms such as the International Science and Technology (ISAT) Linkages Fund.

Global relationships: New Zealand maintains a number of bilateral (New Zealand to one country) and multilateral (New Zealand to many countries) relationships with other countries and organisations. These occur at both the government and scientist level.
