Human resources

During 2008, there was 24,700 research personnel, an increase of 6.9% from 2006. Researchers made up 74 percent of this total, followed by technicians 15%, and the remaining 11% were support staff. 66% of R&D personnel held a bachelor?s degree or higher qualification and 17% held a doctorate. OECD uses the same 2008 data for 2007.
